Falcons push Keys close in thriller
On a beautiful April afternoon, the Falcons met league leaders Cross Keys for the first time this season.
The fortunes of both teams couldn’t be any more different in the lead up to this game. Cross Keys are currently unbeaten in the league, putting in convincing performances and recording impressive victories against other teams in the Premiership, and a cup final date in May. The Falcons have been slightly indifferent, recording wins against Severn Sisters and Dolgellau but yet to register a winning result against one of the top teams this season, a host of severe injuries and a cup exit in the second round to Neath Athletic.
With that said, the Falcons never back down from a challenge and with the conditions favouring fast flowing rugby this match promised to be a nail biting affair.

WRU Womens Cup Final
Neath have swept the board this season having not lost a game but Pontyclun pushed the firm favourites all the way and actually held a slender 3-0 lead at the break thanks to a Laura Prosser penalty.
The match will still evenly poised in the second half with Prosser and Neath skipper Lowri Harries crossing the whitewash for their respective tries.
With Pontyclun’s backrow tearing into the breakdown, Neath’s usual flowing game was disrupted but in the final quarter, due mainly to a couple of tactical changes, Neath began to find their rhythm.
